Inspired by the ADC Young Guns
Once a month, the Apple store in Soho has an ADC Young Guns winner present their work for free. Last night I went to see Greg Brunkalla speak about his work on motion graphics and film. He was honored the Young Guns Award in 2009. He was also nominated for an Emmy for a series he directs for The New York Times Style Magazine.
Of the work presented, I was absolutely blown away by his concept for the Temperley London Spring Collection for 2010. He is partnered with 3 other industry friends that make up a company called LEGS. It was Greg's initial idea to bring an old style of film-making to represent a catwalk for the Temperley circus inspired line for fashion week. LEGS designs a giant zoetrope that spins around with a modern camera attached on an accordion. The still image photography is then represented as a moving image on a projector screen.
Greg and his team created a short film capturing the experience of the Temperley zoetrope. You can watch it here.
